Volunteer Event Planner

If you have experience in event planning and coordination, Project Peace needs you! We are looking for a person or people to plan some of our upcoming events, particularly the May 1 Battle of the Salsa Bands fundraiser.

This job involves working with the Project Peace staff and a team of volunteers to coordinate the event details, including location, food and drink, staffing, publicity, and program. If interested, contact Jose ( jose@projectpeaceeastbay.org).

Be A Recess Hero!

The Claremont Middle School PTA seeks individuals who would engage Claremont Middle School students in sports activities during lunch recess (Monday through Thursday, 11:45 – 12:30).  Claremont Middle School is an Oakland Public School located across from the Rockridge Bart Station on College Avenue.  We request a commitment of two lunch recess periods per month from February through June 2010. Short-Term Volunteers Needed for LeConte Elementary School

Berkeley's LeConte Elementary School needs one or two adult volunteers (no experience necessary) to help with Saturday School. Responsibilities include assisting the students with reading comprehension skills and helping the head teacher with management. Commitment is the first two Saturdays of January and February, 2010, from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM. If interested, please contact Natasha Hicks.
