A Revolution of the Heart

Social Service Providers

gardening for Day of Peace

Painting a schoolProject Peace partners with East Bay Social Service Providers and Agencies in an effort to help them become sustainable and effective in fulfilling their missions. We do this by helping Social Service partners identify their needs, and then we help them meet these needs through connecting them with volunteer (and occasionally financial) resources.

We welcome volunteers at any of these service opportunities. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Project Peace office for more information.

If you are a Social Service Provider or agency and are interested in partnering with Project Peace, please contact Jose Figueroa, Director of Partnerships, at jose@projectpeaceeastbay.org or 510-704-0209.

Youth Emergency Assistance Hostel — YEAH! YEAH! is pronounced "yay" and stands for Youth Emergency Assistance Hostel. It also stands for lots of other good things: it’s Berkeley’s only shelter specifically for youth (aged 18–25) and thus fills a great need. As volunteers, we go to YEAH! and prepare a meal. The youth come in and we serve them, hang out with them during less-busy moments in the kitchen, and wash up afterwards.
